5 Possible Opponents for Amir Khan

" Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strength.," said Arnold Schwarzenegger. Amir Khan needs to take his loss to Lamont Peterson as a learning experience. He is still one of the best junior welterweight fighters in the world.
Amir Khan

Khan and Golden Boy Promotions are weighing his options on whom he will fight next. Therefore, who are 5 possible opponents for Amir Khan?
Breidis Prescott
Breidis Prescott has been calling out Khan. He wants to prove that his knockout win over him was not a fluke. If Prescott gets a fight against him it would give his boxing career a much needed boost because he has only won one of his last three fights.
Oscar De La Hoya tweeted on January 4th that he liked to see Khan fight Prescott in the United Kingdom. Khan could avenge his first loss by defeating Prescott. Yet, it is unlikely that he would take such a dangerous fight after a defeat.

Victor Ortiz
Victor Ortiz's trainer Danny Garcia thinks Ortiz would knock out Khan. So Khan is definitely a boxer that he would like Ortiz to fight.
Khan is interested in fighting Victor Ortiz. "At 147, definitely, I think it would be an ideal fight for me. He did beat Berto and I just heard that his rematch with Berto was called off. Maybe my next fight could be against him, who knows," Khan said.
Robert Guerrero
Robert Guerrero thinks Khan is avoiding him. Guerrero has called him out and he is willing to fight him at junior welterweight or welterweight.
Khan considered Guerrero as a possible opponent for his fight on July 23rd , 2011. Yet, Khan decided to fight Zab Judah.
Roach likes a match-up between Khan and Guerrero. "Guerrero is a good friend of mine. He's a good kid. He's a good fighter. It would definitely be a great fight," said Freddie Roach.
Shane Mosley
Shane Mosley is past his prime. However, he wants to fight in more big fights. He is very interested in fighting Amir Khan.
Khan could rebound from his loss to Peterson by defeating Mosley. Mosley will not be much of a threat becauase he has looked badly in his last three fights. It also would give Khan an opporunity to reach his goal of fighting at welterweight.
A Mosley vs Khan fight is a good possibility if Khan does not get a rematch with Lamont Peterson and Mosley does not fight Saul Alvarez.
Lamont Peterson
Golden Boy reportedly offered Peterson $1.5 million to fight Khan in a rematch on May 18th. Yet, Peterson is weighing his options.
Bob Arum the CEO of Top Rank has discussed a possible four man tournament with Marquez facing Peterson in March or April and Manny Pacquiao fighting Timothy Bradley on June 9th and the winners of both fights would meet in November.
Khan badly wants to fight Peterson to avenge his controversial loss to him in December. But, he is getting sick of waiting on Peterson.
" We'll probably give him another 48 hours to get back with us and then we'll move on to someone else. I'm not going to be wasting my time. I deserve a rematch, " said Amir Khan on February 3rd.
